Signs of Life

Listen to the stories that the walls tell

in knocks and whispers out of hidden places

telltale signs of life in the midst of a storm

sweeping silent over this wasteland

Voices celebrate the night

crying out together for deliverance

and soon to have their wish granted

when the walls collapse under the weight of their secrets

This place of shadows will open to the world

beckoning all to come and see

into the wasteland now seeded

ready to drink in the sunlight above

bring forth life out of dust and ashes

and shout with new color to the sky

for all those still awake to witness it

Going to perform a few of my poems at an open mic tonight. I was going to do it in December, but a school conflict kept me from being able to. Then for the January one I was still out of the state… It’s been a long time coming!

  1. This is a very good poem relating to what I understand to call repositioning of souls or consciousness. I appreciate seeing it today.

I remember you writing about the open mic. Enjoy something at experiencable rhythm there and others will too. Doing what you know how to do, you will never stop the show (which is good) and you will be unstopable which is great!
