I was walking in the street when the first bombs fell. The sky became ash and fire. Explosions turned into screams which turned into sirens which became all a maelstrom of noise, like a tsunami that followed behind the shockwave and lifted our minds from out of our bodies so we could walk among the wreckage and not feel, only see, only survive. Then the second wave fell and the rest in the streets became angels before my very eyes, their bodies lifted away like doves into the air and a path forward cleared where they landed. It stretched away through cascading fire like the touch of wind in a dream of something more beautiful. So I walked on in search of that something, and by the time the third wave came down I was pretty sure I found it.

I’m thinking I might be able to turn this into the beginning of something…

Love this – it is either beauty in destruction or a great metaphor for a life changing moment. Either way you must continue this.
