It was raining when we came to the place where the lines were drawn between auroras of a second sun and the memory of someone elseโs past. The ground we stood on was laid over bone. The sky looked down without pity on streetcars where the gods once rode, now rusted out specters of glory past, gone the way of moonlight at dawn. Every little corner torn away revealed more bloody scars cut deep into flesh, like the wind was digging for gold beneath all the blood and boneโanything the stars hadnโt already claimed and carried away to sow in more fertile lands. Something like a new beginning far, far away from the rushing tides of starlight.

This started out as a poem but pretty quickly turned more into prose. Maybe I’ll work on lengthening it a bit more.

Lots of heavy imagery to ponder, but the “P.S.” made me laugh ๐

Oh yea I am so glad. I just love your words, you have an amazing gift. I will be tuning in believe me. I donโt know where you are in WA but my daughter has a home in Kirkland and she has been loving the warm weather. Stay safe because I know she is still on lockdown. So please be safe. Love and hugs Joni ๐ธ๐บ๐

Thank you Joni! Iโm not too far from Kirkland, down the highway about an hourโs drive. Yep, things are still pretty much locked down here. Seems it wonโt be lifted until safety for most can be guaranteed. Stay safe!

Sometimes prose IS poetry–depends on the author, and you’ve got the gift.
