Slowly Shattering

Silhouette attached to the lonely one

walking through someplace impossible

Shadow stitched into skin and voice

each howl to the wind only a wisp of smoke

See what spires rise above the pathway

crooked and curved and everything moving

all together in the same direction

toward the next break in the façade

the next glimpse behind the cracked mirror

slowly shattering

then back through the wake pulled behind

tamed beasts of sharpened fangs reaching out

digging claws into sand

Heedless of shadow, the lonely city breathes

not a care at all for the end of the road

where one sits alone at the edge

dangling feet into the void

Listened to Animals by Pink Floyd all the way through today. The album describes three types of animals a person can be: a dog, a pig, or a sheep. Simple, yet effective.

Pink Floyd is an amazing group. I never got to see them play. It is interesting what comes to mind when listening to great music. Great piece. Have a great and blessed Easter. Love Joni
