Separated from all but itself
a mind lashes out against the void
left behind where something used to lie
lost now and hidden who knows where
in the maze below
Now searching is the mind, longing
but all it finds is life where death must rule
walking tired circles hand in hand with the fallen
secrets on their lips
desperate to tell of what they’ve hidden

The last few poems I’ve written seem to be dwelling on a theme.

where is the artwork from? It says, “There is no god but Allah”.

Really? I thought it was just a hedge maze. If I remember correctly I found it by searching “maze” on Unsplash.com

It is a work of art. Strange that hedges would be combined with Islamic calligraphy! I have been enjoying your recent writings. Dark but not too dark, leading somewhere!

Very interesting. Thanks for revealing the meaning within it. I had no idea language could be written in that way! And thanks for the kind words (: I’ll keep the poems coming! Cheers
