Down the Hall

There’s noise coming from down the hall

And the walls seem like they’re breathing

A tired routine has brought me to this place

To sit for a while with evil and hear its thoughts

When I leave my fingers will be stained with it

I’ll walk for a while with them hidden away

Until the sky breaks, the rains fall,

And the stain spreads to cover everything

Already the door to this place is open

And it waits for more to come

Thunder is sounding in the distance

And tired eyes look to the sky for rain

Feeling ready to get back to Denver and start my second semester…
