Your touch was lightning in the freezing rain
the main line plugged straight into a nerve
as the sky screamed overhead
and the storm crept slowly across the valley
I couldn’t tell if it was you or the storm
that swept me away to drown
but I went willingly into the darkness
lost to the world and searching for more
On paths away from the falling rain
out there across a strange and distant sea
the stars cast a different light
and sometimes in the spaces between them
I can just make out the way back to you

Finished reading my first Bukowski novel, Hollywood. I need to check out more of his books… Anyone have favorites of his?
