Taste of the hope which springs eternal
though it flows in caverns deep within
an earth bent low beneath the weight
of its yearning for the wild beyond
And here in its hidden places we wait
wondering at what might answer the call
Better lost in shadow than shaped by the light
this world spinning in darkness
cloaked in endless solitude
as all together our eyes fall into the abyss
and the abyss stays silent and averts its gaze

Usually I like to include a little message here, or a question for my readers. But I really don’t know what to say anymore.

I look forward to your little messages at the end of each poem. Your poetry is so deep and then it’s a little back to reality. Please continue.

I have cried after each poem I have written in my lifetime. And I have now cried after reading this poem. Brilliant and beautiful.

As long as we hold onto it, Hope cannot be killed. We must surrender it before it will die.
