Lay Waste

From this high up the world seems not to move

fading into new realities, twisted landscapes

passing toward a horizon at the edge of all there is

the colors strange and broken

bleeding out across a sky of long shadows

and falling to the world below to fill in the empty places

where knives cut out pieces of an already broken heart

Now see to it that mountains fall

and deserts rise to meet the bleeding sky

Lay waste to the horizon

clawing toward that high dive over black abyss

carried on winds heavy of a storm tossed sea

into a wicked night that longs never to end

Looks like this Winter is going to be a rough one. Everyone stay safe!
