To Eden

Already the monuments return to dust

now crypts whose halls play host to legion

with room yet for many more

on the edge of a steep descent

It hangs in the air like jewels, the dust

glittering in stonewashed light

falling into outstretched hands

that grasp at every passing scrap of cloth

something to twist around their bleeding limbs

and heal what the dust could not

still starving on the path to Eden

Turned in the last assignment of the semester. Now I just need to make it to Friday and then, finally, a break.

  1. Congratulations 🎉 on finishing your final assignment! I remember turning in my teams final paper (a business plan) for my MBA…it was a wave of relief. … I enjoy the imagery of this line from your poem today:

    like jewels, the dust

    glittering in stonewashed light

Have a great rest of the week!
