Seafaring

Suddenly the wind stops

sails fall empty against the mast

and over worlds unknown we drift

each with an abyss to fear

above, below, within

Silent and alone we long for the storm

happy to hear the screams again

if it means forgetting this silence

as our heartbeats are swallowed by the void

What’s the closest you’ve come to experiencing true awe?
