Hammer blows echo and never fade
the poison trapped in “that’s not good enough”
while out at the edges
sand-warmed and rising
Pharaohs crawl over treasure heaps
as though the trove is theirs
The last broken hieroglyphs
buried deep beneath stone, and forgotten
