Ripples

A stone tossed and turning

dragging behind it the weight of all this

like a frigate bird out of storm clouds

its silhouette arrowing down to breach a dimensional wall

and dissolve away into salt and sorrow

leaving the weight of a life behind

concentric and unstoppable and lost

among a thousand others

together enough to shake the world

to tear cities down and build them higher

and all of them desperate

racing against the night to behold the morning

with no more than a secret hope

that the darkness might swallow them all

Sorry I haven’t been posting regularly. Grad school is taking up nearly all of my time! I’m trying to get writing done when I can. Cheers!
