Desert Rain

Masses swept up in a frenzy of feeling
Words forgotten, or whispered on the edge of touch
Sensation a ruler over the valley walked in shadow
There are voices here who try to speak
Screams lost in the haze of deafening sound
The ground quaking with a thousand footsteps
Melting into one glorious being of color
Merging with a wandering soul and splitting seconds later
A thousand fragments fall like rain in a desert
Collect in a riverbed and flow through fire
On the long and winding journey home
