Rushing in to find things hidden in the dust
digital relics left behind to waste away
to rust in the rain coming through a broken ceiling
even as their voices speak in monotones
repetitious stories of a long lost origin
under a different sky than these tattered clouds above
Soft was the light that kissed the beginning
and so dark the shadows that shroud this end
following the leader on a march down to silence
and soft wonder at these new hands
caressing faces worn by time and dust
whispering a promised end to shadow
and a caravan to carry them out into the rain

What kind of music do you listen to when you’re writing? If you listen to any at all, that is!

90s alternative rock, because my blog is memories and stories from that time period.

Are there people that don’t listen to music when they write?! That’d be hard to imagine.
What’s your go-to?

No idea—seems impossible to me as well. For me it sort of varies. If I’m trying to get myself in a certain mood that’s one thing. If I’m just trying to kind of disappear into writing for a while, I tend to put this on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qap5aO4i9A
What about you?

I suppose time period, location, characters, and theme play a big role. It’s usually random music that inspires my writing and not something I picked specifically to help in the process.
You can’t go wrong with that Chilled Cow station though. I agree that it’s easy to disappear into.
