That voice of woodland shadow
was laden with imagined death
Each gate closed upon it
was a wall built to hold back
our deepest fears
revealed now in shadow
and thrown against all memory of light
This is invocation of a soul crying out for peace
and held here in the valley darkened
where moonlight drives the wrath of war onward
to breathe in these vapors
conjured by what passes for entities in darkness

All that is is a passing fragment

You’re spoiling me for hearing more poets read their work. The words take on new meanings hearing the voice behind them.

I’m glad it adds something! It’s a lot more fun to record them than I expected. Thanks for listening (:

Ace work! I’m listening to King Tubby and the playing of your audio over the top of that was a joy. Peas!

I hadn’t heard of King Tubby before–thanks for putting me onto him! I’m honored that my poem could meet his music in that moment (: cheers!
