In Your Hands

I know you shape the world between your fingers
Leaving behind beauty encased in sweetwater
Drops coalescing into an ocean wave
Rolling slow and thunderous in the shadow of your steps—
I found a drop and held it
A tunnel to paradise the size of my palm
Showing me the way to find you
As I let my soul scream out through the opening gate
Across steppe plains electrified by your passing
The sky is shrinking to bring us together—
When I find you and what you hold in your hands
Scarred by the many shards of beauty that have fallen from them
The world will be ours—
