Sensation in shadow is this intoxication
breathing in the vapors together
and watching the walls turn to rivers flowing away
The current runs strong beneath deceptive calm
deepwater shadows waiting to sweep us downriver
and by the time our eyes know we’ve begun to move
the sky already is burning overhead
A pale fire colder than the water we taste
and find vision where the darkness deepens
Slow ticking of our hearts is the clock turning
keeping time of this waltz of wraiths
in spaces of the in-between, the here and there
the landscapes hidden behind blank canvas
with edges even now turning black
as our brush strokes race against the flame

You got this! Gotta get that balance between planning things out and being impulsive, right?

Yes correct…. Overthinking leads me towards being impulsive ,with tension and things not working goodly leads there.

I wish I could stop staying up so late. It’s not uncommon for me to be up until 1 am

When I first went back to school my classes weren’t until the evening, and since I didn’t need to be up early I would regularly stay up and sleep in past noon. Then realized I didn’t much like that schedule, haha. Do you find yourself thinking differently late at night?

I find that I am more relaxed and at peace with myself, my thoughts and the world at night. It’s quiet after all my kids go to bed and I can finally hear myself think. I also really enjoy being up at 4:30 am to get off to work because of the same reasons lol. Whether it’s late at night or in the wee morning hours, that’s when my thoughts are clear and my mind thrives.
