No Vision

No vision of the sun laid bare

only distorted reflections through desert haze

the sky alive and at odds with shifting sands

where walk the shadows of the clouds

in endless searching for a place to rest their heads

Still the song is sung of that land of waters

in the far places beyond the veils of mirage

where from death all life begins

and wakes reaching for the sun, yearning

to know and be known by the sky

Sorry to have been so inactive lately. I’m going to get myself back to posting every day (mostly). I also have a lot of work to do to catch up with everyone else’s posts that I’ve missed. Hope you all are doing well.

  1. Well, I suppose I should call you Mitch. I have been calling you David for ever. This is a beautifully written poem about the mysteries of the desert lands. “where walk the shadows of the clouds” I love this line, beautiful. Hope all is well my friend. Great to read your work again. Love and safety to you and your loved ones. Joni

    • That’s so cool! A lot of what I post is inspired by the places I go/have gone, for sure. I hope to be able to travel way more though–there’s too much of the world left to see! Thanks for the comment (: best wishes to you
