These are strange waters
and stranger still the waves
and ships carried off to harbor
where bluebirds disembark
wingless
to stretch their legs and forget
for a while
what weightlessness is
and there are roads
away from the shore
into haunted lands
wind over shifting sand
mountains and valleys
and hollows home to sleeping ghosts
woodland paths hung with stars
to light the way
The roads whisper
of shadows in the distance
and soon are strewn with blue feathers
