This bitter cup reminds me of what waits
dissolution at the far off edges
where things fall apart
the film ends and fades into the backlight
Then what’s left but a walk into the forest?
Take up company with the demigods
and watch as the universe becomes truth
final and complete and dying
We were already here, dead at birth
and we dreamed for a while
of a world where we weren’t
Then we woke up
