Willows

So, I’m probably more stoked about this than anyone else will be, but I got a microphone so that I can start posting readings along with each new poem or story that I write. Hope you enjoy!

Give in to the whispered magic spell

and sleep among the willows here

where shadows rest under the stars

on their way to taste the deep waters

Vital signs are fading

as our breath is stolen by the weeping trees

Eyes grow heavy, heartbeats slow

and morning seems a far off dream

when we may continue on

heedless of what we left behind

lying still and silent beneath the trees

  1. I’m stoked, too, about hearing the voice of the writer. I tuned in with great anticipation and your voice did not disappoint. But, I need you to read it slower … savor the words. Relish the thoughts. Give opportunity for the listener to absorb the beauty. Your words truly are beautiful and your voice is wonderful! I am trying to figure out how to post my recording, too. You did it! Good for you!

  2. Wow, I loved it. You have a great voice. I was also excited to hear your voice. I love the poem, beautiful. I love trees and write about them often. I agree with Jan go a wee bit slower so we can enjoy every word. Great job 👏🤗💕hugs Joni

  3. Well done! I actually enjoy listening to poetry rather than read it so this was an unexpected pleasant surprise! Can you please share how you set up the microphone and which one you recommend? I’m going to start doing podcasts hopefully so need something basic. Thanks and I always appreciate your final words at the end of the poem. Peace love light and joy

    • Thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to listen. This is the microphone I’m using: https://amzn.to/3tBhViM

It’s nothing super fancy, and there far more expensive ones out there, but it’s working great so far! Setup was pretty easy, as it came with everything in one box. Just plugged in the cord and it was able to record straight away. Cheers! (:

  4. You literally just took this to the next level 😀 Love it! I hope I’m not the only one who feels this way but I really love listening to poetry from the writer because no one else can make it sound or feel just the way it’s meant to be and felt.
